Obesity has increased due to a chronic excess of nutrient intake compared to the low level of energy expenditure in the industrial society. However, there are cases of secondary obesity caused by primary endocrine diseases and Cushing¡¯s syndrome is one of them. The most common clinical feature of Cushing¡¯s syndrome is weight gain or obesity related to excessive exposure to glucocorticoid. Therefore it is easy to mistake secondary obesity in Cushing¡¯s syndrome as simple obesity unless other specific signs appear. This paper discusses four cases of Cushing¡¯s syndrome, experienced in our hospital, that were mistaken for simple obesity and also includes a literature review on this topic.
